Southern Pecan Bars
This is Barb's (alias the Cookie Monster) favorite cookie recipe - they're like little pecan pies!

Crumb Crust:
1 1/3 cup flour
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/3 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup chopped pecans
Topping:
3/4 cup dark corn syrup
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla
3/4 cup chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 350. In large mixer bowl combine all ingredients for crumb crust except pecans. Blend with mixer until all particles are fine. Stir in pecans Press in greased 13x9 pan.
In same mixer bowl combine all ingredients for topping except pecans. Blend well. Pour over crumb crust. Sprinkle with pecans. Bake at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool; cut into bars.
