We love our work, you’ll love us!
Jake Cohen - (Managing Partner) Kindly referred to as “The Son.” He loves working on the property and hearing all the guests' stories and thoughts on life. He enjoys any sports he can get himself involved in. In his short life he has traveled the world, gone to college, worked in more industries than most, and can’t wait to see what happens next. If you are lucky, you may catch Jake in one of his theatrical pursuits around town. He is known to drink a beer or two at cocktail hour in the evening, and loves creating his culinary delights for all the guests on the property.
Betty and the Inn both got their start about the same time (1930’s!!) Her start was in Minnesota, oh sure, you betcha. But her husband's Air Force career took them from coast to coast and England and back with many stops along the way. They even had their own B&B and Ostrich Ranch near Sedona, AZ. She has been the wife of the same lucky guy for 56 years, Mom to 4 daughters, school teacher, business partner, and list goes on and on. Here in Palm Springs all her experiences have come together in this wonderful place. Isn’t she lucky?
Cergio was born and raised in the Palm Springs area. He actually went up on the Tram the first day it opened! After many years of travel around the west coast as a Training Chef, Cergio and his wife Deborah once again settled down in Palm Springs. He then managed Country Club dining rooms such as Mission Hills and Bermuda Dunes, and was Executive Chef at the Betty Ford Center. He and his wife Deborah also worked in Property Management for many years. His interests include cooking, ice sculpture, computers, classic rock and classic cars.
Karen is a Texas native and moved to California 10 years ago. She trained in California as a raw food culinary chef featuring a diet of fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. Having acquired many skills including raising 3 children and now being an “empty nester”, Karen’s passion now lies in learning all she can about the B&B industry hoping to someday incorporate her various interests under one roof. During Karen’s off time you can usually find her in her barn, on top of a horse, or in the kitchen creating one of her amazing “raw delights”.
We also have been extremely lucky to have great housekeepers - they take amazing pride in their work, and always want to make sure the guests have a wonderful experience. They love to joke around with the rest of the staff and are a huge asset to our business.
